A therapist’s therapy and supervision

A therapist’s therapy and supervision

The Journey

Personal individual and group therapy was a prerequisite in my training to become a therapist stemming from the principle that a professional therapist should know themselves better and cope with their own challenges before they set out to help others.

Thus, before I sat on the chair of the therapist, I had previously occupied the chair of the person who seeks therapy. I completed five years of individual and group therapy and, thanks to this experience, I am in a position to understand and resonate with what you go through while you are in therapy.

Personal individual and group supervision is a necessary -yet, not obligatory- condition for every professional therapist for as long as they practice therapy. Supervision provides guidance, direction and support to enhance a therapist’s competency and professional identity, and to refine their knowledge and skills.

I have been taking both individual and group supervision to ensure that I am up to date with the latest developments and equipped to provide competent, ethical and quality therapy sessions.
